3 Affiliate Marketing Mistakes That Everyone Can Make
When it comes to running your own affiliate marketing campaign, there are more mistakes that can be made than there are words in the dictionary. However, there are some mistakes that are more common than others. Here is a quick list of affiliate marketing mistakes that no affiliate marketer should make, but many still do.
1. Know Your Product
Never promote a product unless you know that it is a quality product. This accomplishes several things at one time.
You will know exactly what you are promoting.
You will know exactly what your customers can expect.
You know if the product has any real value.
By knowing these three things, you will be able to decided whether or not the product you are promoting is a good choice. If it is of lower quality then you will not make any money because it will have a high refund rate. More importantly, you will lose the trust of your customers, list, and daily readers. If you convince them to buy an inferior product, then they probably will start listening to someone else and buying from them.
2. Hard Selling
Many affiliate marketers try to really sell their products rather than pre-selling the products. Your job as an affiliate should be to warm-up your potential customers and let the sales page do the actual selling. This will increase conversions and more importantly, it will keep your readers happy. No one wants to get sales pitches slammed down their throat on a daily basis.
3. Lack of Commitment
Always have faith in yourself and commit yourself to affiliate marketing and your product. If you do not believe in yourself, no one else will do it for you.
If you do not commit yourself to the long haul, then you are destined to fail. Even if you are only working one hour a week, make sure you get the most out of that hour. Whether you make money or not, it is still a business and should be treated as one.
It is really easy to stay committed when you are raking in the cash, but you will be tested with times that money just isn’t coming in (especially in the beginning). Stay committed and you will break through eventually.
Believe me, I spent 4 hours a day working online and didn’t make a single dollar for about 6 months. It takes time and I stayed committed and now I am making money every day (Not Millions, but I am debt free, which was the goal when I started).
